SAINTs Online Terms & Conditions
We don't always love rules, but we have to have them!
You must agree to our terms and conditions below, and complete the form which follows, in order to shop with us online.
By purchasing from any of SAINTs Animal Charity’s pages / accounts on Facebook and / or Instagram, you agree to:
-
Just like any other online portal, we will require instant payment to secure your purchase.
Payment details are: SAINTs Animal Charity, FNB Current Account, Account Number 62368255446, Branch Code 256755 (Northgate).
Please use your name as it is stated on Facebook, as the payment reference for every payment. Payment must clear in our account prior to collection. If you’ve been awarded an item on the same day you are collecting, you can pay in-store. Please see collection hours below for reference.
If you are making a cash deposit, please add 10% of your purchase amount, to the total paid.
If this fee is not added, it will automatically be added to your profile for payment prior to collection / postal of your item(s).
Alternatively, click here to make payment with instant clearance, via SnapScan! -
Although SAINTs sends a statement of account via messenger once per month, it is your responsibility to keep your account up to date, and settle items purchased after the statement was sent.
Non-receipt of a statement is not grounds for non-payment; please request an updated amount due when needed.
If multiple people shop on one account, the onus of full payment by month end is still on the nominated account holder. Shared accounts are only allowed if we have granted this request explicitly via inbox. -
Should you wish to keep an account with SAINTs, a minimum of 4 purchases / R 300 worth of purchases per month must be made - should you purchase less than the above items per month, your status will revert to an immediate payment basis.
-
Unless arranged otherwise in writing, we reserve the right to resell items (paid or unpaid) if they have not been collected from our premises four weeks or more since date of purchase.
Collections can strictly be done on Thursdays between 12:00 and 16:00 for paid items, or Saturdays between 10:00 - 15:00, from the Online Shop. No items may be collected if there is an outstanding balance due. Items are not packed immediately, and will not be available within the first 24 hours following the purchase confirmation.
If your parcel is being collected / opened / handled in any way by a 3rd party, we cannot take responsibility for the contents of the parcel. Each parcel is checked in-store, in front of the collecting person, to ensure accuracy and accountability.
You may arrange for your own courier to collect your parcel; please arrange accordingly with us via messenger - these collections are arranged for Thursdays only, and require two (2) days’ notice via inbox.
The online address is Shop 19, Northriding Square, cnr Bellairs & Blandford drive, North Riding. Contact number 082 259 0905.
You can simply search SAINTs Animal Charity on Google Maps to find us as well! -
We offer PUDO, PostNet, and Courier shipping.
We send parcels via PostNet on Thursdays, by request, otherwise your parcel will be shipped at month end.
When completing the customer form, you will select which service you prefer and provide us with the necessary details. The fee will be due to SAINTs along with your purchase(s).
SAINTs will not be responsible for additional return fees in the event of non-collection within the allotted collection window the shipping company provides.
Shipping of your items is entirely at your own risk; whilst we try our best to secure and wrap your parcels as carefully as possible, we cannot accept responsibility for any damage caused by the shipping company in question.
If your parcel is opened and handled in any way by a 3rd party, we cannot take responsibility for the contents of the parcel. Each parcel is checked and each item accounted for prior to shipping, to ensure transparency and accuracy. -
Items cannot be returned if a mistake in judgement is the cause for return (incorrect size, fit etc).
We will however, credit your account should we not have disclosed any faults with the item(s) sold to you, or if any electronic items are not working on purchase.
Breakage via shipping is only covered if you have opted for insurance on your parcel, at the additional cost determined by the third party service provider.
Faulty items must be returned within 7 days of purchase, after which a credit will be allocated to your account. This credit must be used within 2 months from the day it was allocated to you - this applies to credits given for over-payments as well.
If you are paying amounts with the intent to purchase against a credit, you will qualify for 10% off for every R 300 deposit - as long as the R 300 is used in the same month the deposit was made, and the account is on R 0 balance prior to the deposit.
This credit can not be allocated against / used as shipping fees, and can only be used for donated items (not bought-in goods) as we carry a cost for any items bought in. -
Books sold on the “SAINTs Buy the Book” page are the only auction items which our R 5 increments apply to, all other auctions have a
R 10 minimum increment. All auctions are closed manually by staff members, within working hours.
We use Facebook’s “hover” function to determine which bid was the last and highest bid within the indicated cut off time.
Every bid must be stated as a new comment - including corrections.
For more information on the ins and outs of auctions and straight sales, see the FAQ section below! When an item is open to offers, with no minimum price, we do reserve the right to remove the item completely without accepting any offer(s) made on the post.

We love competitive bidding, as the animals do benefit from it, but would love to keep auctions fair and transparent. Please consider other bidders, and refrain from “sniping” with a sudden last minute bid. Although this is no longer disallowed, it is not an encouraged tactic.
Showing intent to bid is the most honorable way to support us in our auctions - we encourage bidding in a fun, but fair, spirit . We thank you for your understanding as we try to keep all our supporters happy while having fun doing it!
-
Although we like to think we are part cats & dogs, we are human and make mistakes from time to time!
Whether an erroneously donated item, or an item seriously undersold in value - there are instances where we may have to withdraw an item for sale / auction, regardless of its status.
We do let our customers get the bargain in most instances, but also strive to always do good by the animals who depend on our financial assistance! -
We implore our customers to maintain the a good spirit on our pages, by commenting in a non-abrasive manner and keeping all comments fair and transparent. We do not condone offensive, dubious, or unethical behaviour on our pages, nor private arrangements between customers without our consent. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Solicitation of items bought by other customers.
Offering the same / similar products to other customers on our posts. Whether linking to other sites, or making your personal items available to other customers, this is not condoned on our pages.
“Confirming” sales on behalf of SAINTs. Only our employees may identify the winner of any auctions or sales.
Editing of bid comments - if you have made a mistake please re-post your comment.
Canceling orders after we have allocated them. While we are understanding when a purchase is canceled within reason, we cannot accommodate habitual cancellation of orders. If your profile is flagged for repeat cancellations, it will be removed from our pages.
Take responsibility for your purchases, even if it is paid for by a third party. Your items must be paid on time, whether you or another party is facilitating the payment. Your purchases are your responsibility.
Deactivation of account while purchases are pending payment. We exclusively use Facebook Messenger to communicate - if we can no longer communicate important information to you (amount due, shipping information etc), we are unable to keep your profile active, and the profile will be removed from the pages.
Counter-offering amounts lower than the auction reserve price / negotiating on the price set by SAINTs staff. Whilst you are welcome to inbox us to make an arrangement or enquiry on items which did not sell at their original price, we don’t allow bartering on the pages’ timeline where items are available to the general public.
Please read the FAQ’s below for more information on procedures and operations.
FAQs
-
It is very important to read the time of the auction closely! You will usually see the auction cut off time indicated as 20:00:59 for example - this means you have until the last second before the clock ticks over to 20:01 to bid.
We do this to establish a clear winner by disqualifying any bids which reflect as 20:01 and over (in this instance).
Bids must be made in increments of R 10 or more, unless specified otherwise.
Sometimes we will open an item to offers, with no reserve price. The winner is chosen when the offers have reached their peak, or by the cut-off time stated in the description. -
Any sale that is not clearly marked as an auction, is a straight sale.
This means it is awarded on first-come, first-served basis and the first person to comment “mine” or a variant thereof on the photo / post, is awarded the item. We will also allow a customer to claim by commenting the amount they are offering for the item, whether it matches or exceeds the sale price - as long as it is not lower than the sale price.
This does not automatically turn the sale into an auction, unless agreed otherwise on the post.
To know exactly where to place your comment, see the next FAQ. -
Most of our auctions close at night, to provide everyone with a fair chance to bid. We only allocate the items to winners within working hours, as it is a manual process which can’t be done remotely.
We try to notify the winners ASAP ♥ -
With pleasure! We encourage “stashing” your purchases until you can collect or want it shipped - then one monthly trip is all you need!
As long as the items are paid, and not exceeding the collection period, we will keep them safe. -
Each purchase made has a time-consuming manual process attached to it, and we need the “uninterrupted” time to load items online and make our sales.
Each item is captured, allocated, and packed - and your parcel is checked on collection, to ensure all the items are there.
The time taken for this process means we can only do it in designated hours, to allow other admin & sales to take place in the week. -
The process varies from page to page, and post to post. Books and clothing items are usually sold via a single photo, and comments should be made on the individual images.
Some items require multiple photos for us to show the detail properly, and comments should then be made on the combined post (accessed via the timeline of the page, not the photo section.) -
We only release items if payment for them have cleared in our bank account.
This means payments from non-FNB accounts must be made at least 2 days before collecting; otherwise, please use the immediate payment option when paying, or use SnapScan to make your payment. SnapScan works with any bank, and clears instantly on our side. -
We post all parcels out at month end, unless specified otherwise.
We do ship parcels through the month, by request. Please make sure to let us know if you need your parcel sooner than standard procedure and we will assist! -
Absolutely!
Please inbox us to arrange this in advance (2 days notice minimum) - courier collections take place on Thursdays only. If you are using a Company Name to arrange the collection, it is crucial to provide us with that information. -
Due to the nature of our business, it is near impossible to index all our items prior to selling them.
We cannot provide you with a list of authors / books / toys etc we have on site at any given time. -
We only action payments which have cleared in our bank account, to minimize risk in our business.
You can send proof of payment to yourself should you ever need to refer to it for any reason.
